Reflecting initially on this test ride, I thought: “hey, just keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll be ready by late April for the 100 mile, 7,000 feet of climbing gravel race!” But now, I am not so sure, and wondering if I need to rethink by training approach.
My last test ride (last Sunday) was 64.6 miles of flat, rails-to-trails-type surface, which I completed in 4 hours 24 minutes, with an average HR of 124, which is 4 beats per minute below my upper zone 2 limit.
