This chapter shares the principles that led me to an Ultraman World Championship, which was followed by a further 20 years of health & performance.

It’s my hope that you will use these principles to…

  • Achieve Peak Performance

  • Self-Direct Your Body Composition

  • Feel Superb, and

  • Maintain Lifelong Health

Nutrition is no different than other aspects of endurance sport:

Some athletes figure it out, most don’t.

From my teens through young adulthood, I was often overweight. My situation was complicated by a lack of knowledge about how to help myself.

This chapter will address the knowledge gap facing most athletes. The chapter is split into themes:

  • Core Nutrition - Building an eating strategy for life.

  • Training Nutrition - How to fuel performance.

  • High-Volume Nutrition - How things change at the limit.

  • How Much To Eat

  • Body Performance - Focusing on the big picture.

  • Race Weight

  • Application For Competitive Athletes

If I want to look certain way, then I need to eat a certain way.

My younger self wanted the body but had no idea on the way. Let’s see if we can move you up the learning curve.
