Now that we’ve discussed The Basics, I want to provide you with the “why” behind the race simulation sessions we’ve scheduled in your annual planner.

Today, we’re going to run through each sport (swim, bike and run) then discuss the difference between Tempo and Ironman fitness.

Along the way, I’ll show you how to build a bike pacing strategy for your event and construct your specific bike simulation workouts.

In the sport-specific sections, I’m going to lay out key sessions you should complete to experience the difference between Tempo and Ironman fitness. These sessions build towards to the Best Workout for Ironman we introduced in Part One.

In this article we explore:
