Gordo,

I'm excited to see this series. As a middle-aged back-of-the-pack triathlete with a history of running injuries, I've really enjoyed the ability to train many hours without injury that triathlon offers. Exercise Science does focus too much on the tip of the spear, the professionals, whereas most athletes aren't going to survive this bias.

I'm very interested in building durability through strength training for long-term health while continuing my endurance training. Thank you for keeping your focus wide and addressing maximum speed and lifelong health.

Jim. My situation is similar to yours (Age/speed/motivation). Just completed half Ironman. It was too much. Olympic distance is better fit. Like variability of tri training. Will focus on strength for next 6 months. Timely post Gordo knowing training cycle. You continue to help. TY.

I’ve done IM 70.3 Chattanooga x 3, and am training for the Full IM in Chattanooga in September. Looking back at when I was injured so often, I was running way too fast, approaching maximum HR. So far feeling great, but know I need even more strength for the other goals I dream about in addition to being old and healthy some day.
