Nice post G.! I’m curious about why are you using multi-step warm up instead of, say, 15 min in 180w?

Personal preference, I like a very easy start.

I did some testing with higher start points and they elevated my lactate. For example, starting immediately at LT1 watts.

Ok, your lactate finding is interesting and I need to try that too.

Have you read the Finnish study last year where they compared individual vs static programming on recreational runners? The individual group load was based on their recovery which was assessed by three different markers and one was HR:pace during the second 5 min slot from the beginning.

Haven't read the study but that sort of guidance makes sense. A simple test inside the warm up to sort athletes based on readiness.

Dynamic loading based on individual recovery/adaptation is one of the best things that has been developed. When I started out, we were stubborn to the point of stupidity with our training schedules.
